The Drosophila suzukii fly shown in this photograph, also known as the Spotted Wing Drosophila, is the worldwide most important invasive pest of small berry fruits. In our study we demonstrated that although peach is not among Spotted Wing Drosophila preferred hosts, it could serve as a pest reservoir and, therefore, the D. suzukii management in this crop should be considered in the IPM programs.
